A short overview of the background.
Artem Lajko ist Head of Platform Engineering sowie Platform- und Cloud-Architect mit über 8 Jahren Erfahrung in der cloud-nativen Entwicklung und im Betrieb skalierbarer, zuverlässiger und effizienter Plattformen auf Basis von Kubernetes. Er ist CNCF-zertifizierter Kubestronaut und veröffentlicht regelmäßig Beiträge (Blogartikel und Fachtexte) zu Cloud Native, DevOps und GitOps.
Auszeichnung & Anerkennung
Artem ist Ambassador der Platform Engineering Community (der weltweit größten Community im Bereich Platform Engineering) und CNCF-zertifizierter Kubestronaut. Er trägt seinen Teil zu verschiedenen Open Source Projekten, u. a. Sveltos Addon Controller, vCluster, Kamaji und Argo CD bei. Wissen zu teilen und die Community weiterzuentwickeln ist für ihn zentral: Er spricht regelmäßig auf internationalen Konferenzen, gibt Online-Kurse und veröffentlicht Hands-on-Beiträge bei Medium. Dafür wurde er mit einem Cloud Native Rockstar Award ausgezeichnet.
Technische Expertise
Artem verfügt über tiefgehende Kenntnisse in Kubernetes, GitOps sowie Infrastructure as Code mit Terraform und Helm. Seine Projekterfahrung umfasst Multi-Cloud-Umgebungen (Azure, AWS, GCP, OTC, STACKIT, OVH) ebenso wie air-gapped Setups (z. B. OpenShift) und Edge-Cloud-Szenarien mit limitierten Ressourcen, auch oft in KRITIS Bereichen. Er ist spezialisiert auf den Aufbau von Internal Developer Platforms (IDP) und Developer Experience (DevEx)-Lösungen, die Entwicklungsteams ermöglichen, sich auf Produktentwicklung zu konzentrieren – während die Plattform Infrastrukturkomplexität abstrahiert und zugleich Standards, Governance und Compliance sicherstellt.
Strategische Rolle bei WAF++
Artem bringt sein technisches und methodisches Know-how ein, wie Internal Developer Platforms mit cloud-nativen Technologien aufgebaut und nachhaltig betrieben werden. Als Platform-Engineering-Ambassador nimmt er an relevanten Diskussionen, Executive Roundtables und BoFs teil und nutzt diese Perspektiven, um WAF++ als Framework transparent, skalierbar und zukunftssicher weiterzuentwickeln.
Vision & Community
Für Artem bedeutet Sovereignty mehr als das Erfüllen von Anforderungen über Zertifikate und Testate. Entscheidend ist, Open-Source-Ansätze zu verstehen, richtig einzusetzen und Wissen aktiv mit der Community zu teilen – denn nur so entstehen langfristig tragfähige Standards.
