Community Standards

Code of Conduct

WAF++ is an open, welcoming community. This Code of Conduct outlines the standards we hold ourselves to — and what to do when things go wrong.

Respectful collaboration Harassment-free Contributor Covenant v2.1
OUR PLEDGE

We are committed to a harassment-free community

In the interest of fostering an open and welcoming environment, we as contributors and maintainers pledge to make participation in WAF++ a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.

STANDARDS

Expected behaviour

Four principles that shape how we work together in the WAF++ community.

Be

Welcoming & Inclusive

Use welcoming and inclusive language. Respect differing viewpoints and experiences. Accept constructive criticism gracefully.

Be

Respectful

Disagreement is fine — disrespect is not. Focus on what is best for the community. Show empathy towards other community members.

Be

Constructive

Provide and accept feedback professionally. Critique ideas, not people. Assume good faith in ambiguous situations.

Be

Collaborative

Work together openly. Share knowledge. Credit others for their contributions. Help newcomers get started.

NOT ACCEPTABLE

Unacceptable behaviour

The following behaviours are considered harassment and are unacceptable within our community:

The use of sexualised language or imagery, and unwelcome sexual attention or advances

Trolling, insulting or derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks

Public or private harassment

Publishing others’ private information (physical or electronic addresses) without explicit permission

Other conduct which could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting

ENFORCEMENT

What happens when the CoC is violated

A clear, fair, and confidential process for handling reports.

1
Step 1

Report the incident

Contact the project maintainers via conduct@waf2p.org or by opening a confidential issue. All reports will be reviewed and investigated promptly and fairly.

2
Step 2

Maintainer review

Maintainers are obligated to maintain confidentiality regarding the reporter of an incident. They will investigate and determine the appropriate response.

3
Step 3

Consequences

Maintainers have the right and responsibility to remove, edit, or reject contributions not aligned with this Code of Conduct, or to ban contributors for behaviours deemed inappropriate.
